Everyone probably knows Hokusai's great masterpiece "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" from the series "36 Views of Mount Fuji". This majestic work of color woodcut inspired me to create an artwork with big blue waves.

The individual wave elements were drawn with ink on paper and scanned. The elements were then inserted, laid out and colored in Photoshop. Finally animated. The illustration is, in my opinion, a good representation of a harmonious interplay of old, traditional techniques and the use of modern, digital techniques. The finished illustration was sold as an NFT and as an animated art print.
